August ‘08 Wallpaper: Summerfire
Creative Resources / Inspiration
I’ve set a challenge for myself, and it’s to come up with at least one wallpaper a month to showcase and share with you, my totally awesome reader. It helps me hone my Photoshop Jit Su, and it’s a free little piece of eyecandy to sweeten up the sometimes depressing world wide web.
August for me was always the time summer vacation ended and school started. No more beach bonfires or sitting on the boardwalk at night, watching the waves come in. I despise the heat in the day but I love staying out on hot summer nights. So, inspired by that, here is the start to a monthly wallpaper feature:

Download Summerfire
Put Summerfire on your desktop. Left-click to view, right-click to save:
1024×768, 1280×960, 1280×1024, 1680×1050,
1600×1200, 1920×1200
Credit for the background photo goes to Belfathus. I just re-interpreted it a little bit :) I know this one’s a bit late for August, so look for September’s wallpaper in a week or so.
Feedback is appreciated
It would be most awesome if you could let me know in the comments what screen size you are or would prefer, and I’ll make sure those sizes are available so more people can download it.

Nice work, it really reminds me of the end of summer. In my part of the world (Australia) we’re shaking off the last vestiges of a cold winter, so this image is a very welcome sight.

Hi Tracey, and welcome to my humble blog! I’ve seen you around Kris’ and David’s blogs so it’s a pleasure to see you here. I’m glad you like the wallpaper; I figured it was a great creative exercise for me to do and something that could add value to this site. I’m just about to do September’s right now, actually. It’ll be interesting to see the progression of this project over a year.
